There have been a lot of challenges and distractions over the last year.
Our country — and world — has been impacted by COVID-19, racial injustices and politics.
The toll has affected many adults, yet I believe we have overlooked the toll it’s taken on our children.
Never an elite athlete, I nonetheless owe so much to sports, and my passion is to reframe what quantifies as “success” for our young athletes. So instead of focusing so much on titles and victories, I think we must prioritize the timeless characteristics that will equip and empower all of them, not just the small percentage who show college or pro potential.
Leveraging my experience as a journalist and storyteller, I curate examples and stories that will show young athletes what key characteristics are, why they are important and how they can work on them. Best of all, these characteristics can be fostered in each individual, regardless of his or her height, weight, or athleticism!
The 4 JV training sessions focus on Gratitude, Effort, Attitude and Being Coachable. The 4 Varsity training sessions are the importance of being Fearless, Consistent, Intentional and Humble.
Each training session is 15 to 20 minutes long and comes with an online quiz and many downloadable resources.
On Friday February 5th, at 7 p.m. CST, you can participate in a short webinar and watch a complete training session.
